Why Beenzer runs on Solana
A social app mints a lot of small things, often, from a phone. That rules out slow and expensive chains. What Solana, Metaplex, Arweave and Phantom each do for Beenzer.
A social app is not an art gallery. People post often, from their phones, on mobile data, and most posts are small moments, not auctions. Whatever the chain, minting a moment has to be quick, cheap and work from a phone. That is why Beenzer has run on Solana since its first line of code in 2022.
Solana: fast and cheap enough to be casual
Solana confirms transactions in seconds and network fees are usually a small fraction of a cent. That changes what is reasonable to put on-chain: not just the rare masterpiece, but the photo from Saturday night.
Metaplex: the standard everyone reads
Beenzers are minted with Metaplex, the token standard most Solana wallets, explorers and marketplaces understand. Each one is a programmable NFT in the Beenzer collection, with a limited print supply: the creator decides how many editions can exist, and edition #1 is sent to them.
Programmable NFTs also carry a rule set, which is how royalties are enforced. Every Beenzer is minted with a 10% royalty on resales, split 80% to its creator and 20% to Beenzer.
Arweave: so the photo outlives the app
A token is only as good as what it points to. Beenzer uploads the media, and then the metadata, to Arweave, a network built to store data permanently. Videos also get an animated preview, so wallets that do not play video still show something alive.
Phantom: the wallet in your pocket
Phantom is the wallet you sign in with. On a phone, Beenzer talks to it through deep links: it asks Phantom to connect, asks you to sign a one-time message to prove the wallet is yours, and later asks you to approve the mint fee. Nothing is sent without your signature, and the app never holds your keys.
The point is still the map
The chain is how a moment is kept and owned. The map, the feed, your friends and your chats are what Beenzer is for. Before any mint, the app shows the fee and where it goes, and nothing happens until you approve it in Phantom.
